How long should we spend in the intercourse?

It is common to think that the longer a sexual relationship lasts, the better. However, a recient survey conducted by the Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR) show surprising information about this.

To sum up, the paper states that the average couple spends 7 to 13 minutes having satisfactory sex. When sex lasts for 1 to 2 minutes, it’s seen as too short. It’s ok if it lasts from 3 to 7 minutes and would rather do it for up to 13. According to the survees, more than this is already too long.

These results clash with the common thought of “longer is better.” It’s worth noting that long sex sessions lead to being exhausted, uneast and even a rush, which means less intensity and pleasure in the long run. Sometimes, a quickie can be way better for both parts.

Anyways, experts say that every person has a different physical and psychological condition and every couple has a different synergy. The key is to enjoy the time we spend together, without realy setting a time goal.
