Swimming puts your heart to work, so also improves blood circulation, particularly in the legs. Not only that, but  it improves breathing, strengthens your muscles and corrects your position. It’s a sport with a very low injury rate and it’s good for everyone (even elderly people).

2. Football

You probably won’t be surprised to learn that football is the second most played sport, with 1002 million players. Playing football is a highly demanding activity as you’re exercising non-stop during 90 minutes while you improve your cardiovascular system, oxygen consumption, speed and stamina. It also strengthens the muscles and improves your bone density.

One of the best perks of this sport is team-playing, which also favours social relationships. It’s an extra incentive to play it, hence a great way to prevent obesity, especially for children.

There’s 998 million people that play this sport, especially women. That’s probably because it’s a perfect way to tone your body.
